Amanda Kole / Sunday, November 10, 2019 / Categories: WireMasters News, Holiday One Day Isn’t Enough Veterans Day We owe them more than we can ever repay. They sacrificed their lives, their families, and their freedom. They are the patriots and heroes of our country. “On this Veterans Day, let us remember the service of our veterans, and let us renew our national promise to fulfill our sacred obligations to our veterans and their families who have sacrificed so much so that we can live free,” said U.S. Representative Dan Lipinski. Today we live among 20 million veterans, while 58307 have been remembered at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington after losing their lives at war. These are peoples mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, and friends. We should honor them EVERYDAY. One day each year isn’t enough for the sacrifices these individuals have made. We need to remember the dedication they put forward for our freedom. Their bravery, strength, compassion, and commitment should NEVER be forgotten. Veterans stood in harm’s way on foreign soil, witnessed battles unfold before their eyes, and crossed enemy lines towards the threat of imminent death.Veterans missed the birth of their children, ballgames, birthdays, holidays, and graduations; memories they will never get back all to fight for our freedom. Often when returning from war soldiers will encounter PTSD like Marine veteran Richard Casper. Through his rough times, Casper looked to art and music to help him heal and has since co-founded CreatiVets, a nonprofit organization that helps veterans heal through free music and art. Casper isn’t the only one that faces issues like this, and he won’t be the last. These veterans lives are forever changed and it’s our job to give support and help them succeed. Look at the inspiring outcome of Casper’s story below. Let’s stop, take a moment to think and pray for those in unform-both past and present. May God place his loving, comforting arms around you and your families for your selfless acts. You are the TRUE HEROES OF AMERICA.
