Airbus EC725 Helicopter

Suited to adapt and survive in various environments, the Airbus EC725 helicopter can cruise at fast speeds of 262 km per hour, while weighing in at a whopping 24,250 pounds. Equipped for intense missions, the aircraft has a full glass cockpit, integrated displays of digital maps, electronic warfare, and an indicator that displays available power in all situations. The EC725 is designed for the most difficult and demanding missions. Used most recently in Afghanistan, its Dual FADEC engines are equipped with unique backup systems and mechanical over speed protection to help complete the tasks successfully.Photo Source:Wikipedia

Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey

The osprey isn’t just an ordinary aircraft. Co-Manufactured by Bell Helicopter and Boeing, this tilt rotor machine takes off and lands as a helicopter, but once in flight the engines convert to a turboprop airplane for high-speed and high-altitude capabilities. Flying twice as fast as a helicopter, the transport aircraft can carry up to 24 combat troops, 20,000 pounds internally, or 15,000 pounds externally. Equipped with two Rolls-Royce AE1107C Liberty turbo shaft, the engines capabilities are designed to fly 2100 miles with one in-flight refueling and can rapidly self-deploy to any location in the world. However, these advanced engines don’t come cheap, thus explaining why the price tag of a V-22 in FY 2014 ranged from $61.49 to $69.22 million. Photo Source:Wikipedia
